Black Circles - Little Girl single review

They say :- Ask anyone....three is the magic number......

All three cut their teeth on the touring highway before fate brought them together in London. Dan, Mayumi & Simon quickly grew into the alternative rock band that is now banging at your door!
Second to none live, their dedication, spirit and raw talent produce a sound to die for. Take Biffy Clyro..... Add Queens of The Stone Age.....Multiply by Nirvana.....
Their songs are tinged with soaring melodies, splintering guitars and a bass sound that could bring down a mountain...
Be in no doubt, the result is powerful, yet harmonious, subtle and earth-shattering...

We say :-

'Little Girl' is the debut single from London based three piece Black Circles, and it's a very impressive first release. It's anthemic punch-the-air rock vaguely reminiscent of the Foo Fighters and their stadium rocking ilk with a delightfully grung-ey fuzzy guitar sound and some infectious sing along vocal hooks.

Now to be brutally honest this isn't really our usual 'thing' here at Cack Blabbath, but there is something in this that we can't help but like. It's well written, well produced and catchy as hell.

Black Circles are an ambitious band, and if this release is anything to go by they have the musical ability, talent and songwriting savvy to go far. Heavy enough to separate itself from the usual run of the mill pop-punk stuff, but accessible enough to the masses to be hugely popular.

Obviously one single does not a successful career make, but on the strength of what is on offer here and their MySpace this is definitely a band worth checking out, and we eagerly await their next releases.
