Falling Red - Shake the Faith

They Say :- In an industry of manufactured one hit wonders, Falling Red, have produced quite possibly the most vital Rock album since Guns N Roses delivered Appetite For Destruction. Super-charged high octane anthems that take you to the sleazy side of town, intoxicate you, then kick your ass UFC style. Falling Red aren't Saturday evening family entertainment, they are a glimpse back to the heady, rebellious days (or daze) of 70s Punk & 80s Sunset Strip. They have that essential raw energy that demands attention because you just know their undying enthusiasm is going to take them to the hearts of a brand new generation of Rock fans. Songs such as "How You Feel (on me)", "Out Of Control" & "You Were Out To Get Me" are screaming to hit Rock Radio's playlists. But where Falling Red's strengths are quadrupled are live onstage. This is a four piece band in which all four members are the frontman. They slice up every stage as if performing in an arena in front of twenty thousand screaming fans. They give it blood, sweat & tears to entertain an audience - and no one goes home disappointed!

We Say :- 'Shake the Faith' is the debut offering of Carlisle boys Falling Red, before anyone feels the need to comment 'itznotmetulz' yes I know, no I don't care. Instead what we have here is some good old style Rock 'n' Roll. If you think along the lines of Motley Crue and Ratt you won't go far wrong.

The title song 'Shake the Faith' is superbly catchy, before you know it you are bopping along like it's the 80's all over again. For such a young band Falling Red have turned out a very polished, bawdy, romp of an album definitely one to put you in a party kind of mood!

On the back of 'Shake the Faith' Falling Red have toured extensively with the likes of Dave Evans and Veins of Jenna. I've managed to catch them live twice, once in a Barn at Sonic Rock Solstice (where they pulled off a fantastic cover of AC/DC's 'A whole lotta Rosie') and then again at the Rocksector SOS Festival and both times they impressed me greatly with their energy, performance and their genuine 'likableness'.

Falling Red have an audacity, swagger and tenacity which is combined with a honest to goodness work ethic which I hope will herald big things for them as they're certainly putting in the effort to make it happen. It is fair to say than no one on the UK scene at present does this type of sleazy rock'n'roll as well as these boys.

Have a listen to the album and if you can, go and catch them on tour, it'll be worth the effort.

Amanda.
