We say :- Guildford's own Stars Of The Search Party have been creating a buzz for
themselves based on their amazing high energy live performances. They have built up an impressive
following on the road sharing the stage with bands like You Me At Six and Kids In Glass Houses, and
listening to this EP it's easy to see why.
Any ideas you may have that they are just another British band trying to follow in the footsteps of
the likes of The Blackout are soon blown away. When they launch into the opening track of this EP, 'The
Culprit' it's genuinely not what you'd expect. There are power metal influences aplenty in the guitar
style along with catchy melodies and anthemic sing-along choruses that make it obvious why they
are so popular live.
SOTSP do use the fairly predictable singing / screaming vocal stylings of Post Hardcore but don't
rely on that to define the sound of the band. Instead they build on a more traditional
metal foundation which shows off some excellent guitar work and sets them apart from the majority of
their peers. Add to this the fact that Rob Harral has the perfect voice for this style of music and
you just know they're onto a winner.
